  • Title:  Jerusalem Old City View From Mt Of Olives 001
  • Description:  The Mount of Olives or Mount Olivet is a mountain ridge east of and adjacent to Jerusalem's Old City. It is named for the olive groves that once covered its slopes.

Looking out over the Old City of Jerusalem from the east, the panorama from the top of the Mount of Olives is Jerusalem's most iconic view. Across the Kidron Valley lies the Temple Mount with the Dome of the Rock in the middle, the Al Aqsa Mosque is to its south, the domes of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the Hurva Synagogue stand out in the Old City behind them, all surrounded by Jerusalem's high ancient walls.
